Welcome to “Morning Light” my newest album and first foray into the genre of chamber-folk, made entirely in my hometown community of Stratford, Ontario.

When listening to this album for the first time, I feel it is best served with a morning coffee, in front of a window.  Or at lease a time when you can hopefully sneak a moment for yourself.

As time goes on, I think you'll find this record to be like a box of Rheo Thompson assorted chocolates. Each track similar, but unique at its core. Perhaps most acutely savoured one or three pieces at a time.

Physical CDs are now available and are shipping from my store. Their packaging was designed by acclaimed Stratford, Ontario artist Scott McKowan, and exclusively features the photography of Dave Brosha throughout the accompanying 24-page booklet.

Please feel free to leave your comments and questions in the guest book included at the bottom of this page. I look forward to reading them and hearing from you.

Enjoy, Dayna

I’ve had my Morning Light CDs for a little more than a week now. Anyone that has had any connection to the completion of this most awesome project should be beaming with pride, right down to the guy/gal at the local Tim Horton’s that put that little extra sumpthin in your coffee, or whenever/wherever you went on those days that helped put you in that perfect place when you went to record. The whole album is a most beautiful Work of Wonder (WoW)! Congratulations on the completion of this project and thank you so much!

I received the CD yesterday in the mail. What a wonderful surprise! It sounds fantastic. I'm brought back to a nice August day in, I think, 1997. Lilith Fair at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. Like many I was primarily there to see Sarah. However, over to the left on one of the side stages was this simply fantastic performance from a young woman with a different and enchanting voice. It was only a short 4 or 5 song set but I was sold. This (primarily) hard rock/metal head has a weakness for unique vocalists-singer/songwriters! I hunted down the CD the next day and played that thing over and over. Soon that CD spinning for days on end turned into Shades and then Folkyo. After that I embarrassingly lost track (moving stateside contributed to that). That was until I was digging through the iTunes library and staring at me in between David Bowie and Deep Purple was Dayna Manning. First I listened to the albums again, as I had not for some time, and then decided to dig around to find out "whatever happened to...". That brought me to this project. A project I was happy to support given the joy that has hit my ears for many a hour. Joy created by you. Thank you.

Thank you for the opportunity to play a small part in this beautiful & creative project Dayna, Linda & I received our copies of Morning Light late last week. We love it!! Linda especially liked the 3 traditional songs. You have created a musical work of art you can be so proud of.

I love this album so much. It's been a while since Folkyo and this is so different. It sounds like a work of art. Great effort, Dayna!

I scrolled down to see the track names, and went straight to O Snow--my favourite of yours. Thanks for including it. I could listen to that song forever. It shimmers and haunts even more on this latest recording. Can't wait to hear the rest. Brilliant work Dayna.
